The vending machine is one of those humble inventions that most of us use frequently but don’t often think about. In the course of a normal day, the average office worker might buy a morning cup of coffee, a meal at lunchtime, and a mid-afternoon snack from a vending machine in the office break room.
Obviously, the vending machine industry is a lucrative one. These machines can be found nearly everywhere we go and they help to keep us fed and hydrated when we’re away from home. Vending machines are also used to dispense a number of other things, from newspapers to toys to disposable earphones.
Personal care items are another type of vending machine staple. Feminine hygiene products, small toothbrushes, over-the-counter pain killers, and perfume or cologne are often available in vending machines, especially in gas stations and truck stops.
