Vending Technology Has Come a Long Way
There are some things that are so much a part of our everyday lives that we simply don’t notice them anymore. Vending machines are one of those things. We pass by them every day, but until we are hungry, thirsty, or begged by our children, we just don’t really see them. But vending machines have a long and fascinating history. The earliest vending machines were very simple and worked with a counterbalance system. When a coin was inserted, internal mechanisms weighed the coin and, if it was the right weight, dispensed the item being offered. Unfortunately, these machines were easy to trick and people often used fake coins. Vending technology has grown by leaps and bounds since those early machines, and it is now extremely difficult to trick them to get your item for free.
